As a fitness coach I am constantly asked the fastest way to lose weight. While I can tell you there are a ton of methods to help lose weight quickly the majority of them won’t stick and quite a few are even harmful. I wish I could say there was a pill, shake or magic wand to make people achieve their ideal body but there is no quick fix to weight loss and KEEPING it off.
Anybody who knows me knows that I live by Shakeology and won’t go a day without it. Yes this is a shake that promotes HEALTHY weight loss however it is only one tool that I use. Having lost the amount of weight and body fat that I lost and KEEPING it off has been a huge part of my fitness journey. Anybody who has kept their weight off for an extended period of time knows that it’s a complete lifestyle change and requires work. Building lean muscle mass and eating A LOT of whole, real foods will build a fat burning machine that is sustainable with proper maintenance.
I recently had a friend telling me she uses protein shakes from a national “health” store and I explained why that’s not a very good idea going by this shake’s ingredients. A couple weeks later she was in the hospital and her kidneys were failing in her mid 20’s. Her doctor explained to her the same thing I did about this “health” protein shake and how it’s full of harmful ingredients and heavy metals that will cause kidney failure.
I began my journey using Shakeology to help me improve my digestion and give me the energy I needed to exercise on a daily basis. Having the discipline and commitment to living a healthy lifestyle, eating clean and working out has gotten me in the best condition I’ve ever been in. This is why I do what I do as a fitness coach. Having someone to push me through the times I wanted to quit and being accountable to OTHER people has kept me in the game going on 3 years now with no signs of slowing down. Are there days I just don’t feel like working out? Hell yeah there are. Would it be easy to just say screw it and not do it? Yep. However, I can look to all my friends and clients that I’m helping and know that if I’m telling them how to get healthy and that fitness is a huge part of that lifestyle change I damn well better be doing what I’m telling them to do.
While I don’t claim to have all the answers and am no dietitian I do know what’s worked for me in my health and weight loss journey and spend a massive amount of time researching new things. Having COPD I also have other considerations as to what I can and can’t put into my body. Foods that cause inflammation are definitely out and should be out of anybody’s diet. Other foods that are normally healthy are harmful to me so I also have to be aware of that. Other than that I eat whole, real foods, drink Shakeology daily or twice daily and workout every day that I’m supposed to going by the schedule of whatever program I’m doing at the time. Not only does this keep me healthy but it also shows that I practice what I preach and keeps me accountable.
Eat Clean, workout and know you can be healthy and enjoy a quality of life that a few short years ago was unimaginable to me. There is no quick fix to weight loss but through consistent practices you can have a healthy, long lasting weight loss that will last a lifetime. Let me help you!! What are you waiting for?
