Today began day 1 of the newest Beachbody program, Focus T25. The first workout is T25 Cardio. Having COPD, cardio is the most important yet the most challenging workout I can do. The great thing about this workout is that I can workout at my own pace and modify if I need to. There were a few times during the workout that I had to modify but for the most part I didn’t. While going through this I was really trying to FOCUS on the exercise and get the most out of it. The whole basis is to focus and engage more than working out faster. While it may seem like it would be less work, when you’re focusing on proper engagement then you are actually working the muscle group harder yet more efficiently than if you’re not properly engaging. I look forward to everything this program has to offer and completing the full 10 weeks. Since it’s only 25 minutes a day and 5 days a week it should really help me not miss days throughout the 10 weeks and it won’t interfere with my busy schedule. That is one of the biggest complaints/excuses I hear about most workouts. Oh, well I don’t really have time to workout for an hour. I’m just too busy. Blah blah blah. That excuse has now been totally nullified.
Just strictly for accountability and to show my progress I am inserting my before pictures with no results yet. This is what I will look at for motivation as I go through the program. As you can see I have gone slightly backwards after a week in Las Vegas at the Beachbody coaches summit where there really wasn’t much by way of good nutrition. Other than my Shakeology I did not eat very well. In addition I’ve also recently discovered that the medication (corticosteroids) I take for COPD may cause fat retention around the midsection even though that’s not listed as a side effect. I’d never thought of it before but a support group I recently joined was having a discussion about this very thing. Now I’ve changed medications so I’ll see if that makes some kind of difference.
In addition to going through the program myself I will be starting a challenge group on July 15th for people who want to go through the 10 week program. I will be giving prizes based on full participation in addition to achieving specific goals.
